OSP Journal of Petroleum Science and Natural Gas

Petroleum, or crude oil, is a mixture of hydrocarbons that can be extracted from underground reservoirs. Once extracted, it can be refined into various products, such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and heating oil, as well as non-fuel products like plastics, chemicals, and asphalt.

Natural gas is primarily composed of methane (CH₄), a colourless and odourless gas. It’s found deep beneath the earth’s surface, often alongside petroleum deposits. Although methane is the dominant component, natural gas can also contain other hydrocarbons like ethane, propane, butane, and small amounts of heavier gases such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and hydrogen sulfide.

The OSP Journal of Petroleum Science and Natural Gas is an international open access journal that publishes leading edge studies in the field of petroleum science, petroleum engineering and natural gas and the implementation of related technologies to the development and management of oil and gas reservoirs from their discovery through their entire production cycle.
